Notes
The Roll lists his address as 135 Padholme Road. [The Roll lists him as having been killed in action on 28/4/1917 in Russia; in fact, the Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record he died in Batoum on 28/5/1919, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and the Medal Roll similarly records that he committed suicide, due to 'insanity'].

(N.B. The Roll is known to include numerous errors, including: misspelt names and inaccurate date/place of death, service number/ rank/ military unit etc; several casualties were mistakenly listed on it twice [i.e. under their true name and also the alias under which they served]; several other men were listed on it due to the mistaken belief they had died, whereas they had actually survived).
