Due to a simple administrative error, this man was inadvertently listed on the Roll twice: once at the foot of page 3, and again at the top of page 4. Both entries record him with the identical regimental number, Battalion and date/place of death; the sole difference is that the entry on page 3 lists his address as 785 Lincoln Road, whereas the one on page 4 lists it as Hall Lane, Werrington.
(N.B. The Roll is known to include numerous errors, including: misspelt names and inaccurate date/place of death, rank and military unit etc; several casualties were mistakenly listed on it twice [i.e. under their true name and also the alias under which they served]; several other men were listed on it due to the mistaken belief they had died, whereas they had actually survived).
