Hornshaw and Fowler are the source of forename, service and death details. The Nutter Scholar when at the school and a member of the Halifax Model Aeroplane Club, he was an apprentice chemist at a local woollen mill before enlisting in March 1940, initially into the Royal Engineers before transferring tot he RAF in 1941.
