According to Angus and Rosemary's Miscellany of Malvern (see References): 'Son of headmaster Robert Bruce Lockhart and Florence Stewart McGregor. Lt Seaforth Highlanders - shot in the head leading his platoon in an attack on the Hohenzollern Redoubt, near Vermelles in the Battle of Loos, France, on the 25th Sept 1915, aged 20 years.'
