Notes
According to Angus and Rosemary's Miscellany of Malvern (see References): 'Quote from the Rugby school archive:
He entered the School in 1910, and passed on in August, 1914, as a King's India Cadet, to the RMC Sandhurst. He joined his Regiment in February 1915, and, after service in India, in the North-West Frontier Province, and in Burma, was attached to the 2yth Punjabis, and proceeded with them to Mesopotamia in August, 1916. He served in the trenches until the recapture of Kut-el-Amara in February, 1917, and took part in the rapid advance on Baghdad. On March 9th, 1917, he left the camp for a walk and was never seen again. It was presumed that he was murdered by Arabs, as were several other officers, including his own Colonel, about that time. Aged 20. It was stated that he had been very plucky and willing throughout, though his health was affected and he had spent some time in hospital.'
Brother of H and Nephew of C E who are also listed on this memorial.
