Extra details provided by Wilsden Parish Council (see references). The younger brother of Frank (also listed on this memorial), he was born in 1898, tried to enlist first in 1916 but was called up in February 1917 alongside two friends, John Edmondson (also listed on this memorial) and Herbert Clark. He became a POW after being captured in March 1918 and was the only one of the 3 to survive.
