Extra details provided by Wilsden Parish Council (see references). He was born in 1897, the elder brother of Harry (also listed on this memorial), enlisted in September 1916, married Ethel Radcliffe in the December before he crossed to France and was wounded in October 1918, returning to England where he survived.
