Notes
Various records show that Sgt Donohoe was serving with the 81st West African Division fighting the Japanese in the area around the current border between Myanmar and Bangladesh . He is commemorated on the Rangoon War Memorial . The memorial stone illustrated has no other family details , but is situated on a gravesite in the cemetery . Sgt Donohoe's parents lived in Netley Abbey and it is possible that the gravesite is theirs but their gravestone has been removed .
