The Memorial indicated that he formerly worked in the Corporation's Farm Department. It incorrectly stated that he died on 27th September 1916, whereas other records prove he actually died on 27th September 1915.
CWGC records that Private Alfred Rawlings, regimental number 14812, died on 27/9/1915; he is commemorated on Panel 91 to 93 of Loos Memorial in France.
