Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details: they and the CWGC list him as serving with the Bedfordshires, not the Berkshires, and give him a higher rank than this memorial. He is also commemorated on IWM 2739, 2689 and 2730 and his biographical, service and death details as they found them are shown on the latter. He was probably the brother of Norman who is also listed on these two memorials as their records gave the same address.
