Notes
All extra details are based on information supplied by the College Archivist (see Additional Information). This included the following biographical details. Born on 6th October, 1875, in Hampstead, the son of Peter, he was educated at Harrow and matriculated in 1894. He then became a broker on the London Stock Exchange before the war. He was the elder brother of Frederick who is also listed on this memorial. A second biographical source (see References) adds: 'Peter May, a distinguished rower, was half buried when a German mine exploded. His men went back to their trench to fetch spades, but in this time the Germans advanced over the crater, and he had disappeared.'
