All extra details are based on information supplied by the College Archivist (see Additional Information). This included the following biographical details. He was born on the 7th June, 1879, the son of Arthur, at Trowbridge in Wiltshire. He was educated in Weston-Super-Mare before matriculating in 1898. He played various sports for the College but also gained a First in Natural Sciences and then became first a Fellow and then a Tutor at John's, his specialisation being plant genetics. He was wounded whilst serving but died of an illness at home after the Armistice.
