Hornshaw and Fowler (see References) provide the extra details. He was married to Ellen and worked for 18 years as a pavious for the Halifax Corporation before the war. He went missing at Bullecourt and died as a POW at Cassel. He is also listed on IWM 2689. The press spelled his fore and surnames as the memorial does but other sources did not.
