Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was a keen hockey player for Halifax but worked as a teacher who had taught in Halifax but had moved and was teaching in Burnt Green, Worcestershire. He died leading an attack on enemy lines and is also commemorated on IWM 2689 as well as the Thiepval Memorial.
