Subject(s): History; BA 1912. Tutor(s): J R Tanner. Educ: Royal Grammar School, Colchester. Career: Articled to the Town Clerk of Colchester; Lieutenant, University Battalion, Essex Regiment (TF) 1914-1917. Died 26 March 1917 (killed in action at Battle of Gaza).' He had survived Gallipoli where he contracted jaundice and was hospitalised in both Cairo and Cyprus as a result.
