Hornshaw and Fowler (see References) provide the extra details. He is also listed on IWM 2689. He was a married man, with 5 children, working as a plasterer's labourer before he was called up in August 1914 as he was also a Reservist who had served in the Boer War. He survived being wounded but was killed by a sniper as he brought in the wounded according to the local press.
