Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Like his brother Cyril, who is also commemorated on this memorial, he was unmarried and worked for a gas engine company before the war. He enlisted in January 1916, 2 months after the death of his brother, and, like Cyril, is also commemorated on IWM 2689 as well as on the Ploegsteert Memorial.
