Brother of Claude, also commemorated on this memorial, like his brother he was a keen sportsman (hockey and football) and worked for the family clothing firm until he bought a laundry at Hornsea. Married with a child, he enlisted in May 1917 onlyu to be killed by shellfire later that year.
