Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He had worked for J Mackintosh and Confectioners, before the war and was one of many of his regiment and from Halifax lost in a failed attack on the Schwaben Redoubt. Like so many of them, he too is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.,
