The College website (see references) provides the following additional information: 'Accepted 1916 but did not come into residence. Military Service: Lieutenant Royal Marine Light Infantry, attached 190th Brigade Machine Gun Corps. Wounded 13 November 1916 during the attack on Hamel, in the Battle of the Somme. Died 1 December 1916.'
