The College website (see references) provides the following additional information: 'Came up in 1913 to read Mathematics, but did not graduate. Military Service: 2nd Lieutenant 5th Battalion, Dorsetshire Regiment. Died 26 September 1916, probably in the area of Delville Wood. Was in action at Gallipoli and evacuated to Egypt before going to Flanders, where he would appear to have joined the 6th Battalion as the 5th remained in Egypt.'
