The College website (see references) provides the following additional information: 'Came up in 1912 to read Classics, but did not graduate. Military Service: 2nd Lieutenant 4th, attached 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. Died 26 April 1915 in fighting on Hill 60, a strategically important feature to the south of Ypres. During this fighting Pte Edward Warner (also of the 1st Bedfords) won the VC.'
