Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was originally from Walsden in Todmorden and was an accomplished violinist and vocalist. He emigrated in 1904 with his brother John, who is also named here, and enlisted in July 1915. He may also commemorated on IWM 2721 and his date of death was given as both the 14th and 16th September, 1916. Their father also served in Ww1.
