Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler and Malcom Bull provide the extra details. He was originally from Middlesex and a married man, probably to Emily Anne. He served as an ambulance driver and was wounded in WW1 but it is unlikely that these wounds were the cause of his death. He is buried locally and is not thought to be named on any other Calderdale memorial. CWGC has no record of him and so it is assumed he should be listed as served.
