Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Originally from Littleborough, he was married to Alice and they had 2 children. He ran a greengrocers - his wife delivered by horse and cart after he enlisted in October 1916 - and he died at a casualty clearing station. This was the only Calderdale memorial they found him listed on.
