The Roll lists his address as 18 Milton Street, Peterborough.

(CWGC records that Private William Stenson, regimental number 268810, died on 25/3/1918 serving in 10th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, and is commemorated on Bay 3 of Arras Memorial in France. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that William's widow Jane A.W. Stenson was his legatee. His Army service file records that he was aged 32, and living at 18 Milton Street in Peterborough, when he enlisted on 10/1/1917. The file records that he had married Jane Ann Weston Mays on 20/7/1912 at Peterborough Register Office. William had served in the UK with the 7th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment until 25/4/1917, when he was sent to France. On 13/5/1917 he was posted to the 10th Battalion. His file records that he was wounded in action on 31/7/1917, and rejoined his unit 7/8/1917. It also records that on 12/12/1917 he joined 82 Field Company of the Royal Engineers. His Army file does not record the date he returned to the 10th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, in which he was serving when he was killed in action 25/3/1918. The Medal Rolls make no mention of his service in the Royal Engineers, which may therefore only have been a short-term loan).
