Notes
The Roll lists the address of "James Scott Urwin" as Goodyer's Yard, and states that he was KiA on 12/10/1917 serving as a Private in the King's Own Scottish Borderers. However, no soldier of that name died in any Regiment at any time in WW1.
The entry for "James Scott Urwin" was in fact included on the Roll of Honour in error; it was actually alluding to the death of James Scott IRVING, regimental number 28375, who was listed on the Roll of Honour under his correct surname (see his entry on the WMR Names record under ref 1052750).
Whilst the entry under "Urwin" was included on the Roll in error, it nonetheless exists; this transcript of that entry has therefore been left 'live', to avoid giving the false impression that the rogue entry has been overlooked. JK
