Notes
The Roll lists him as "Stanley Thompson", of "Park Road (Baptist Church)". It records no details of a date or place of death, but does list his regimental number as 3307, and states he was a Driver in the RFA. In fact, the soldier who served under that rank/regimental number did not die in WW1.

(The man the Roll lists as "Stanley" Thompson did indeed serve as a Driver in the Royal Field Artillery, originally under the regimental number 3307. However, his full name was Edward Stanley Thompson, his regimental number later changed from 3307 to 901594, and official records indicate that he did not die in World War 1.
His birth was registered in Peterborough District in 1895 as "Edward Stanley Thompson"; he was baptised under those forenames at St Mark's Church in Peterborough on 24/5/1896, as the son of Martha and George Thompson of Craig Street. On the 1901 census he was recorded as "Edward", living with his parents at 16 Craig Street. On the 1911 census he was still at that address, recorded as "Stanley" Thompson, aged 15, and living with his widowed mother Martha.
On 15/3/1916 the Peterborough Express reported the death of Martha Thompson of 16 Craig Street; among the chief mourners listed in the report was her son "Driver E.S. Thompson"; the wreath from him and his siblings read "To dear mother from her sorrowing children Ella, Cecil and Stanley". Driver Edward Stanley Thompson was therefore still alive at that time.
The Royal Field Artillery's Medal Rolls record that Driver Edward S. Thompson's original regimental number was 3307, but later changed to 901594, and that he only ever served in the RFA. They are not annotated that he died in WW1, and CWGC has no record of his death. Official records therefore indicate that he survived the war.
(The marriage of Edward S Thompson to Ruth H Hardy was registered in the Peterborough District in 1919. The death of Edward Stanley Thompson, aged 43, was registered in the Peterborough District in 1939. On 195/1939 the Peterborough Standard reported that he died on 16/5/1939, mentioning that he served in Salonika in WW1).

The Park Road Baptist Church WW1 Memorial (which was one of the sources used to compile the Peterborough Roll of Honour) did list a "Stanley Thompson" as having died, but gave no details of his rank/unit. As no Peterborough man of that name is recorded as having died in WW1, either the church included his name in error, or that parishioner lived outside the city.
