(CWGC records that Private Thomas Taylor, regimental number 20725, died aged 17 on 23/8/1916 serving in 1st/1st Bucks Battalion of the Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry, and is commemorated on Thiepval Memorial in France. They record him as the son of Mrs Sarah Taylor of 49 Silver Street, Peterborough. Soldiers Died in the Great War records Thomas Taylor as a native of Fletton who was living in Peterborough when he enlisted. Although all his military records record him as "Thomas", and that was therefore presumably the name under which he enlisted, his birth was registered in Peterborough District in 1898 as "Tom Cecil Taylor", which was therefore his legal name. He was recorded as such on the 1911 census, living at 4 Silver Street, Fletton with his mother Sarah).
