(CWGC records that Private A H Sandall, regimental 42910, died on 17/8/1917 serving in 16th Battalion Middlesex Regiment, and is now buried in grave XI.A.12 at Artillery Wood Cemetery in Belgium having been reinterred after the War. They record him as the son of Mrs Sandall of 23 Taverness (sic) Road Peterborough. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that his father Robert was his legatee. Arthur Harold Sandall's birth was registered in Peterborough District in 1897. His baptism on 4/7/1897 as the son of Sophia and Robert Samuel Sandall of 148 Gladstone Street was recorded in the Baptism registers of Peterborough St Mark's Church. On the 1911 census Arthur was living with his parents at 23 Taverner's Road, Peterborough).
