The Roll lists his address as Geneva Street. It states he died serving in the Northamptonshire Yeomanry under regimental number 2300, which differs from official records.

(CWGC records that Private John George Leslie Richer, regimental number 28180, died aged 24 on 10/7/1917 serving in 1st Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, and is commemorated on Panel 13 of Nieuport Memorial in Belgium. They record him as the son of Mr & Mrs John George Richer of Geneva Street, Peterborough. John 's birth was registered in Peterborough District in 1894. On the 1901 and 1911 census he was living with his parents Jemima Catherine and John George Richer at 11 Westgate, Peterborough; he was recorded as Leslie on the 1911 census. The Medal Rolls record that John initially served in WW1 in the 3/1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry, under regimental number 569, before joining the Northamptonshire Regiment under regimental number 28180. His Medal Index Card records that he was first sent to France with the Northamptonshire Yeomanry on 6/11/1914, that he left the Army on 7/4/1916, and later rejoined to serve in the Northamptonshire Regiment. De Ruvigny's Roll of Honour inaccurately recorded that John George Leslie Richer was born on 28/10/1895. It states he joined the Northamptonshire Yeomanry in April 1911, was mobilized on 4/8/1914, and served overseas from October 1914 (which differs from the Medal Rolls). It records that he was wounded at Ypres in August 1915 and was invalided home. Having served his time he left the Army in April 1916 and worked on munitions until October. He was then recalled and transferred to the 1st Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, returning to France in December 1916. He was reported as wounded and missing after the Battle of the Dunes on 10/7/1917 and assumed to have died on that date).
