(CWGC records that Private Edward George Quibell, regimental number 12838, died aged 20 on 9/5/1915 serving in 1st Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, and is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial in France. They record him as the son of James and Isabella Mary Quibell of 171 Crown Street, New England, Peterborough. His birth was registered in the Peterborough District in 1894 as Edward George Quibell, which was therefore his legal name. He was recorded as such on the 1901 census, living with his parents James and Isabella in Crown Street, Peterborough; on the 1911 census they were living at Twyford Cottages in Crown Street. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that Edward's death on 9/5/1915 was presumed, and that his father James was his legatee. The Medal Rolls record that Edward went to France on 27/1/1915).
