Notes
The Roll lists his address as Bleak House, Fengate. It states he died serving in the 7th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, which differs from official records.

(CWGC records that Private Ernest Peach, regimental number 23418, died on 31/7/1917 serving in 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, and is commemorated on Ypres Menin Gate Memorial in Belgium. Soldiers Died in the Great War records him as a native of Peterborough, where he enlisted, and that he died 31/7/1917 serving in 2nd Battalion. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects state he was serving in the 2nd Battalion when he died, and that his parents Charles and Elizabeth were his legatees; the Registers mistakenly record that he died "on or since" 31/7/1918, rather than 31/7/1918. The Medal Rolls record that he had formerly served in 7th Battalion, but had transferred to 2nd Battalion by the time of his death on 31/7/1917. On the 1911 census Ernest had been aged 17, living with his parents Charles and Elizabeth at Fengate, Peterborough. His birth was registered in Peterborough in 1893).
