(CWGC records that Private Harry Nichols, regimental number 203009, died on 28/4/1917 serving in 7th Battalion Suffolk Regiment, and is commemorated on Bay 4 of Arras Memorial in France. Soldiers Died in the Great War records that Harry Nichols was a native of Peterborough who died on 28/4/1917 serving in the 7th Battalion Suffolk Regiment, regimental number 203009, having formerly served in that Regiment under the regimental number 6598. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that his widow May was his legatee. Harry's birth was registered in Peterborough in 1890 as "Harry Nicholls", which was therefore his legal surname. On the 1901 census he was recorded as Harry Nichols, living with his parents Joseph and Sarah at 1 St John's Street, Peterborough.
