(CWGC records that Corporal George Robert Lusher, regimental number 9280, died aged 22 on 19/8/1916 serving in the 1st Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, and is buried at Special Memorial B.17 in Bazentin le Petit Communal Cemetery Extension in France. They record him as the son of Henry and Caroline Lusher of 7 Reform Street, Peterborough. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects likewise record that he died on 19/8/1916 serving in the 1st Battalion; his mother Caroline was his legatee. Both George and his brother Frank had been recorded on the 1911 census serving in the 1st Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment at Devonport. On the 1901 census they had been living with their parents, Henry and Caroline, at 54 St Margaret's Street in Fletton).
