This entry on the Roll re "Henry Webb LLOYD" (who it lists as being of 39 Eastgate) was an error; no soldier named "Henry Lloyd" died serving in the Essex Regiment during the First World War.
The true name of the man to whom the Roll was alluding was "Lloyd Henry WEBB", who it also listed under the correct surname of Webb, with identical service details etc. Confusion regarding his surname resulted in his being mistakenly listed twice on the Roll.
Whilst its entry under the surname Lloyd was an error, it nonetheless appeared on the Roll; this Names record has been therefore been left live, as it might otherwise appear that the entry had been overlooked. JK
