The Roll lists his address as 141 Gladstone Street. It wrongly records his regimental number as 118947, and his date of death as 27/10/1918.
(CWGC records that Private C H Dunkley, regimental number 118047, died 24/10/1918 while serving in the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters, and is buried in grave E.6 at Fontaine-au-Bois Communal Cemetery in France. Charles' date of death is likewise listed as 24/10/1918 in Soldiers Died in the Great War, which records that he had formerly served in the Leicestershire Regiment under regimental number 58084. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects also record his date of death as 24/10/1918, and indicate that his father Charles was his legatee).
