The Roll lists his address as 103 High Street, Old Fletton.
(Although his birth and baptism in 1896 in Fletton were registered under the name "George William Cunnington", he was known as William, and is recorded as such in all other official records. CWGC records that Private William Cunnington, regimental number 268476, died aged 21 on 11/8/1917 while serving in the 1st/7th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, and is commemorated on Panel 8 of Ypres Menin Gate Memorial in Belgium. They record him as the son of George & Sarah Ann Cunnington of 4 Hick's Lane, Old Fletton. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that William Cunnington was killed in action in Belgium, and that his mother Sarah was his legatee. His Army Service file records that he was living at 103 High Street, Old Fletton when he enlisted as "William Cunnington" on 12/9/1912. He served in the 1/1st Hunts Cyclists, first under regimental number 74, and later under regimental number 20735. On arrival in France on 30/7/1916 he was posted to the 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment. His regimental number later changed to 268476 on 6/8/1916, when he was posted to the 1/7th Warwickshire Regiment; he was serving in that Regiment when he was killed in action on 11/8/1917).
