Notes
The Roll lists his address as The Firs, Eastfield Road. It correctly records his forenames as Percy Charles (which is the name under which his birth was registered) but, as he enlisted as "Charles Percy Burks", all his service records are under that name. The Roll misrecords his date of death as 5th August 1915.

(CWGC records that Private Charles Percy Burks, regimental number 1456, died aged 23 on 6/8/1916, serving in 48th Battalion Australian Infantry A.I.F., and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial in France; they record him as the son of Charles Wells Burks of The Firs, Eastfield and the late Martha W Burks).
