Notes
The Roll lists him as "G.R. Burchnell (Dick)", and his address as 7 Princes Road, Old Fletton; his brother Harold is also listed on the Roll.
(CWGC records that Private George Burchnell, regimental number 3/10467, died aged 19 on 3/5/1917, serving in D Company of the 6th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, and that he is commemorated on Bay 7 of Arras Memorial; they describe him as the son of Robert & Susan Burchnell of 7 Princes Road , Old Fletton, and record that his brother Harold also fell in World War 1. "George" Burchnell, aged 13, was living with his parents at 7 Princes Road on the 1911 census. His legal name was "Richard George Burchnell", as which birth was registered in Peterborough in 1898, but he was evidently known as Richard/Dick).
