Notes
The Roll lists Albert's address as 185 Eastfield Road. It misrecords his surname as "Bunyard" (it was actually Bungard), and wrongly states that he died in Frankfurt.
(CWGC records that Private Albert Bungard, 26574, of the 2nd Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry died on 18/11/1916, and is commemorated on Thiepval Memorial in France. Soldiers Died in the Great War records that Albert Bungard was a native of Shoreham, Kent, and had enlisted at Doncaster. On the 1911 Census he had been living with his parents Joseph & Annie Bungard at 45 Beech Road, Doncaster. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that he died "on or since 18/11/1916. Death Presumed", and his father Joseph Bungard was his legatee. The 2nd Battalion's War Diary records that on 18/11/1916 it was in action at Beaumont Hamel in France).
