Hornshaw and Fowler, citing the War Memorials of the British Empire listing, agree on the manner of his death but name him as simply William and give his date of death as the 11th April 1917: they say he was either 31 or 37 and married to Maria, not Mary Ellen. Assuming this is him, they are the source of his service and death details: if they are correct, he is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
