Son of Sptimus and Margaret, Green Brae, Bowgreave Garstang. In February 1918 transferred to the 1st Batt. Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. On 1 May 1918 was commissioned as temporary 2nd lieutenant. Received fatal injuries at Beauregard and later died at the IX Corps Main Dressing Station at Vadencourt.
