Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He lived in Huddersfield - his parents were in Brighouse - where he was married with a daughter. He enlisted in July 1916 and survived being wounded 3 times before a final, fourth wound in the abdomen led to him dying in a casualty clearing station. This was the only Calderdale memorial they found him named on.
