Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was a weaver at a mill before the war and was killed in a mine explosion. A commemoration in a local churchyard says he died on the 16th of January, but CWGC and press all say 28th. He is also commemorated on IWM 2224 and 2659: CWGC adds that he is on the Loos Memorial and was 18.
