Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He played cricket for Warley and football for Luddendenfoot and worked as a moulder for a gas engine company. He enlisted in October 1914, served in the Dardanelles and died when a trench collapsed on him. He is also commemorated on IWM Memorial 2590.
