Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, to Sarah Ellen, and worked as a weaver at a mill before he enlisted in June 1917, being sent abroad by the October. He was a member of Humility Lodge and is also commemorated on IWM 2224 as well as the Cambrai Memorial. His age was given as both 30 and 34 at the time his death was reported. .
