Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was a weaver before he enlisted. He served at Gallipoli, where he was wounded, and in Egypt, he also served as a drill instructor in Scarborough before he was killed by machine gun fire in France. He is also commemorated on IWM 2224 and 2721.
