Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra detail. He enlisted in September 1914, was commissioned in November 1917 and married Evelyn Deacon in February 1918. After he was killed, his papers were kept by a Private L B Guest who was captured, the Germans confiscated the papers, but Guest wrote home to Dalzell's parents who informed the War office of his death. He is also commemorated on IWM 29416, 2587 and 2600 as well as the Pozieres Memorial.
