Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He enlisted in September 1916, crossed to France the following January and went missing later that year in an attack on Peter Pan. He was not named on any other Calderdale memorial that they catalogued but he is named on the Tyne Cot Memorial. His age weas given as both 32 and 33 in the press at the time.
